Local Heroes Cafe Benefit for Connor

Local Heroes Cafe is hosting a benefit on December 15th at 6 pm to help the family of a local St Augustine child who recently lost his battle with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disorder (SCID).  Connor Outley was only 3 years old when he passed away on December 1st.

Address: 11 Spanish Street, St Augustine, FL 32084

Phone Number: 825-0060

His parents, Megan and Daniel, have been with Connor at Duke University Medical Center since August of 2014 where he was receiving treatment for his compromised immune system.  Unfortunately a lung infection that was contracted in November proved to be too much for Connor’s fragile immune system.

Connor was a delight to everyone that he encountered and his story was shared around the country as the energetic young boy proved himself a fighter again and again.  Megan hopes that Connor’s story will prove an inspiration for those in similar circumstances and also hopes that Connor’s case will help doctors research better treatments and cures for the rare disorder.  Megan and Daniel donated Connor’s body for research in an effort to help save a child’s life in the future.

The benefit on December 15th will include light snacks, drinks, and live music and the entirety of the proceeds will be donated to the Outley family.
